What is Delhi Ladli Scheme

This scheme was started by the then Chief Minister of Delhi Government on 1 January 2008 and currently the scheme is being taken forward by Chief Minister Kejriwal. Under the scheme, especially girls are being given benefits and their education is being promoted. Under this scheme, the expenses for the education of a girl child from birth till her class 12th are borne by the Delhi government. Under the scheme, a girl child born in a hospital gets ₹ 11,000 and a girl child born at home gets ₹ 10,000 by the government.

Benefits and features of Delhi Ladli Scheme

The scheme was started on January 1, 2008 by the then Chief Minister of Delhi.
All the responsibility of running the scheme has been given by the Government of Delhi to the Women and Child Development Department and the Education Department, Delhi.
Under this scheme, the government will give financial assistance to the girl child when she is born and until she completes her studies up to class 12th by studying in different classes.
If a girl child is born at home, she will get 10,000 and if she is born in a hospital, she will get ₹ 11,000.
Under this scheme, money will be given by the government to the bank account of girls at different stages of their birth and education.
Under the scheme, when the girl child completes 18 years of age, then money can be withdrawn according to her requirement.
After the birth of a girl child, when she gets admission in the first class, she will get ₹ 5000 and when she goes to the sixth class, she will get ₹ 5000. On going to the ninth class, once again ₹ 5000 will be given to the girl child and on coming to the 10th class, the girl child will again get ₹ 5000. Once again he will get ₹ 5000 when he comes in 12th class.

Delhi Ladli Yojana Eligibility

For the scheme, the girl child should be born in Delhi and the parents of the girl child should also be natives of Delhi.
The family whose annual income is ₹ 100000 or less will be eligible for the scheme.
The benefit of the scheme will be given only if the daughter’s admission is in recognized schools.
Only two daughters of a family can be given the benefit of the scheme.
